ABOUT  THE  RACE

HURDLING ORIGINATED IN ENGLAND IN THE EARLY 19TH CENTURY, THE RUNNERS RACE OVER A SERIES OF OBSTACLES CALLED HURDLES, WHICH ARE SET A FIXED DISTANCE APART.

 

RUNNERS MUST REMAIN IN ASSIGNED LANES THROUGHOUT A RACE, AND, ALTHOUGH THEY MAY KNOCK HURDLES DOWN WHILE RUNNING OVER THEM, A RUNNER WHO TRAILS A FOOT OR LEG ALONGSIDE A HURDLE OR KNOCKS IT DOWN WITH A HAND IS DISQUALIFIED. THE FIRST HURDLER TO COMPLETE THE COURSE IS THE WINNER.

ABOUT PAMELA WEINSTOCK

Pamela Weinstock is an experienced general and in-house counsel whose career has spanned the fashion, arts, media and entertainment (FAME) industries. She has advised an array of top organizations, including luxury jeweler Tiffany & Co., global beauty company Coty, Inc., fashion and lifestyle company Kenneth Cole Productions, Inc., and the Writers Guild of America, East, the union for television and film screenwriters.

 

Pamela Weinstock advises fashion houses, beauty companies, media organizations, designers, performers, and entertainment professionals on the legal structures behind growth. From trademark strategy and licensing to talent agreements and brand protection, her work supports both the creative vision and the business reality.

With in-house leadership experience at global brands and entertainment organizations, she understands how decisions play out across marketing, production, distribution, and reputation.

Based in New York City, she chairs the International Trademark Association’s Fashion Industry Group and is on the steering committee of the National Association of Women Lawyers' Fashion Law Affinity Group.

    • Prior in-house work experience including celebrity/designer consumer goods licenses, music licensing, talent agreements, regulatory review, elections, strike fund, immigration, technology development, commercial contracts and disputes, digital marketing, head of screen credits/residuals/reacquisitions, national entertainment union contracts, waivers, amendments to union constitution, international union affiliation liaison, and treasurer and industry reports, at global beauty company Coty Inc., Writers Guild of America, East, the union for film and television screenwriters, and as General Counsel of Gist Communications, Inc., an interactive television company which pioneered early DVR technology, and interactive television channels and web-based TV guides. 

    • Law firm experience including mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property transactions and disputes, general commercial litigation, employment law, insurance, and ERISA, as an associate at Fried Frank, Lambert & Weiss, and Bressler, Amery & Ross.
